He received the USPTA/MV Assistant Pro of the Year award in 2003, Ryan stays very active in the community and is currently the Executive Secretary for the Iowa Tennis Association. He was the Iowa District 12’s Team Coach in 2005. Ryan is also active on the board of the Central Iowa Tennis Alliance, runs several USTA tournaments each year, and is a member TEAM PRINCE. Ryan has the highest level of certification with the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). Ryan comes to ARFC from Aspen Athletic Club in Des Moines, IA where he was the Co-Director of Tennis. Ryan played tennis for Johnston High School as the #1 player all four years. He went on to play college tennis for Central College and Drake University. Ryan received the Player of the Year Award from the Central Iowa Tennis Alliance, and is still an active tournament player with a ranking in the top 5 in the state. He enjoys playing 5.0 USTA Team Tennis and 9.0 Mixed Doubles.
